'WELTKLANG' is a traditional retail name, at

least 60 years old, used by Meister HANS

HOYER for his factory-made horns;

so, in effect, a Weltklang is a Hoyer.

made in the former GDR (East Germany).

 This F/Bb compensating horn's build-quality is

good, as is its valve compression.

Cosmetically, there are several small, acoustically

non-invasive dings and surface blemishes.

In its playing qualities, this attractive, quite

lightweight horn (2.15 kg) has a medium-light,

ringing tone quality, a velvety low register that

speaks very clearly for a compensator, and an

impressively even response over the whole

range.

The horn has a

duck's foot and a water key (conventional type).

It comes with a silver plated mouthpiece, cleaned

ultrasonically.

Its very protective hard case, made by Yamaha,  is

in good, functional condition.

 Generally, a good inexpensive

compensator that will take a young player

up to Grade 8.
